Ibrahim Dodo, Vice president and Co-founder
Dr. Ibrahim Dodo was born in Nigeria and received his early medical education there. He received further training in Family Medicine in the UK and was qualified in 2008. He had worked as a Family Physician in England and currently enjoys working in Vancouver Island, BC, Canada.

Ibrahim enjoys reading, traveling and wildlife and is passionate to help less privilege people around the world.

Mujahid Syed, MD, FRCPC, CISAM, FIIOPM, Vice president and Co-founder

Dr Mujahid Ali Syed currently works as a Consultant Psychiatrist & Addiction Specialist. Dr Syed’s career unfolded as a Psychiatrist way back in India, later completed his formative years of specialist training in Britain. He moved to Canada in summer of 2014 and is now a well established Psychiatrist in White Rock, BC. Dr Syed is an esteemed Fellow of Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and Clinical Lecturer in University of British Columbia.
He has extensive experience working with clients from multicultural background with a wide range of mental health needs.

Dr Syed functions in various leadership and philanthropic roles. He is currently an Executive Board Member for British Columbia Psychiatrist Association representing community psychiatrist’s of the province. He is a Scientific Committee Executive and Board of Director for Indo-Canadian Psychiatric Association; also Co-founder and Board of Director for Deccan Alumni Association of North America, representing for Canada.
Dr Syed has substantial experience in establishing and running of educational organisations. He is Co-founder and CEO of Care Educational Societies. He strongly believes in the ethos of educating and empowering the poor. Hence he plays an extensive role as a founder and Vice-President for Step to Humanity and its mission which aligns with his ideas and beliefs.

Moazzem Hossain, General Secretary and Co-founder

Moazzem Hossain successfully completed Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Vancouver Island University in 2015 and since then he is working as a Registered Nurse (RN). He also obtained Bachelor of Science in Fisheries from Bangladesh Agricultural University and did his masters in Aquatic Resource Development from University of Stirling, UK. Moazzem worked with community people about 10 years to improve their livelihood in Bangladesh in various ways.

He works with Step to Humanity Association along with other professionals in order to support poor and needy people throughout the world as a part of his passion.

Ekram Azim, PhD, Joint Secretary and Co-founder

Dr. Ekram Azim is an educator, scientist and community organizer. He obtained his BSc and MSc from Bangladesh  Agricultural University (Mymensingh, Bangladesh) and PhD in Aquatic Ecology from Wageningen University (Netherlands). He is presently working as a Senior Scientist in a consulting firm based in North Vancouver, BC, Canada. He has been raised and brought up in a society where most of the children are deprived off their basic needs including food, shelter, health care and education.
Overcoming these adversities and now established in society, he feels a responsibility totake care of the underprivileged people in the developing world. He engages in various community development organizations and endeavours, including Step to Humanity.

Masud Rana Sakar, RPh, Treasure and Co-founder

Masud Rana Sarkar obtained B.Sc in Pharmacy and Master’s in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology from University of Dhaka. Now he is running his pharmacy business in Surrey, BC.
In personal life, he is a father of two sons. Besides STH, he is interested in traveling, hanging out with friends and family and theology.

He served as a President of Rotaract club of Metropolitan Dhaka in 2004. He believes that it’s our divine duty to strive for the betterment of the under privileged part of our society that encouraged him to join STH.

Mahfuj Enam, IT Secretary and Co-founder

Mahfuj Enam has been working as a Web Developer of BC Government science 2014; recently he helped to develop new BC Government’s Word Press site with GCPE, Ministry of Advance Education. He was also a Senior System Analyst of BTC, Ministry of Commerce, Bangladesh for eight years and developed ministry’s total IT infrastructure. He is actively involved with community activities and loves to help people.
One of his hobbies is writing and he has published six books, two of them in Canada (If I Go Forever and Death of a Dream).
