Formation of the Project Committee of Step to Humanity with the help of Coastal People

Canada’s international charity organization, Step to Humanity Association, has formed a special project committee to help the coastal victims of Bangladesh.

The decision was made during an urgent discussion held between the executive
board of Step to Humanity Association and the Bangladesh North American Journalists Network presided over by Literary Mahfuz Enam.

Delwar Jahid, the President of Bangladesh North American Journalists Network, introduced Moazzem Hossain, the General Secretary of Step to Humanity Association. Delwar Jahid presented strategic plans for poverty alleviation, addressing
illiteracy, providing medical facilities, and improving the quality of life of the people in the 19 sub-districts affected by coastal disasters.

During the discussion, Abu Murshed Chowdhury, the President of Cox’s Bazar Chamber of Commerce, and Professor Dr. Abdul Jalil Chowdhury from the Department of Development Studies of Dhaka University described their recent experience
of working with the local coastal residents and emphasized the need for coordinated action. Ekramul Azim, Joint Editor, expressed pride in having Delwar Jahid, a freedom fighter, in their struggle to alleviate poverty and establish
human rights, and called for the formation of a special project committee to start work. Spoke among others by Joint Secretary Ekramul Azim, Masud Rana Sarkar, and Moazzem Hossain in the discussion.

A committee consisting of 11 members was formed, with Moazzem Hossain as the ex-officio secretary/lead and Delwar Jahid as the President of Bangladesh North American Journalists Network. Other members include representatives from
Cox’s Bazar Chamber of Commerce, environmentalists, journalists, and other professionals.

Moazzem Hossain announced plans to raise funds for the coastal waste removal project in Cox’s Bazar and implement the project, along with highlighting the project programs on the website and social media. The committee also decided to set up 12 medical camps in rural and suburban areas. The meeting was concluded by writer Mahfuz Enam, the President of the meeting, wishing success for the initiative and thanking everyone involved.
